| Q: What are the light requirements for bromeliads? |
| A: Most bromeliads will do well in bright filtered light although there are some that do best in shade conditions. Under the canopy of trees or in a screened area is ideal. Depending on your location some will tolerate full sun. Most will do well indoors especially to enjoy once blooming.

| Q: What potting soil composition do you recommend for growing Neos with colorful leaves and in what type of shade or sun on what watering schedule?
|
| A: Our current potting mix is 1/3 each Canadian peat, perlite and pine chips. The key with potting bromeliads is that the mix drains freely and holds the plant upright. Orchid mix is another good way to go but is usually more expensive. In order to achieve good color on Neos feed them only to get them going as pups and grow them in bright light but not full sun (except morning sun). Water from the top of the plant twice a week or when the cup gets low, enough to overflow a bit down into the pot.
